Albert struggled on Thursday night as the Cubs knocked off the Cardinals 5-4. AP went 0-4, with a walk, and stranded several runners. Today Albert and the Cardinals will face Carlos Marmol of the Cubs. Let's hope Albert gets back on track today!

Wednesday was a rare off day for the MVP. Albert did not play against the Rockies, but the Cardinals behind a nice outing from Jeff Suppan and offense from powers such as Gary Bennett, Aaron Miles, and Jeff Suppan won their second straight, 6-1. The Cardinals are now 5-1 on the 10 game road trip. On Thursday, the Cardinals will be in Wrigley Field to play the Cubs for four. Like every other year, this series is the Chicago Cubs "World Series". I mean, honestly, they are 23 games under .500, 19 games out of first, and only 3.5 out of last place. This happens every year. The Cubs and their fans get more excited for these games, and this series then any other time of the year. Albert will get to feast on some young meat the first two games as the Cubs throw rookies Rich Hill, and Carlos Marmol before letting father time, Greg Maddux, and finishing the series on sunday with Carlos Zam-no-braino. Check out the Albert's season stats in the column on the right, along with the matchup for Thursday's games, and continue to check back all weekend for up to the minute matchups for Jose Alberto Pujols on his quest for the triple crown. I look for Albert to have a huge weekend in the Windy City!

Look out up the definition of "OWNED" in the dictionary, and you will see a picture of the Cardinals beating the LA Dodgers around like ragdolls. The Cardinals complete their 7 game season sweep over the west coasters on Sunday. Albert was quiet, with an 0-2, but nontheless, the Cardinals defeated the Dodgers. Albert will have a full slate of games this week, facing Jeff Francis on Monday, Jason Jennings on Tuesday, and Aaron Cook on Wednesday, while in Colorado, before the Birds head to the Windy City to face the fifth place Chicago Cubs. Check back with us here at APC for Albert’s numbers against all the pitchers, teams, and in all the stadiums.

In what was a crazy night in St. Louis, Albert and the Cardinals beat
the Braves last night 8-3. Albert got another hit, and scored a run.
Check out the new feature to the site. In Albert’s bio, you can now

Also, new pictures of Albert have been placed into the different

We are still making progress on getting a time and date set up for
Albert to meet, hopefully. Keep spreading the word of our site!

Albert Pujols was nearly perfect on Sunday. Pujols went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI’s. He absolutely crushed the Dodger pitching. The good news for Dodger fans was, Odalis Perez finally got Pujols out, once. Pujols helped the Cardinals to their 7th straight victory and win the game 11-3.

Another day – another walkoff homerun by Albert Pujols. Pujols gave the Cardinals a 3-2 win in the 14th inning of last nights game by hitting a blast to left field off of RP Odalis Perez. Pujols batted in the 9th with the game tied and came up about 2 feet short from hitting a game winner. "It’s almost surprising that he didn’t do it before he did, he’s that good of a player." Stated Cardinals RP Adam Wainwright.
It’s an absolute understatement to say that Pujols has owned RP Odalis Perez. For his career, Albert is 10-15 with 5 HR’s and 12 RBI’s off of Perez. That is unheard of! This is a great way to start off the second half of the season for Albert, who now increased his league leading ‘game winning’ hits by 1.

Both Pujols and the National League where quiet Tuesday as they watched the American League steal the All-Star game from under their feet. The National League was leading 2-1 almost the entire game, until the 9th inning. Trevor Hoffman came in in the 9th and got two quick outs. Things looked promising for the National League to stop the horrid losing streak to the American League. Just then, Konerko singled, Glaus doubled, and Michael Young triple both in to give the Americal League a 3-2 lead. The National League came up in the 9th but went down in order, ending with Pujols sub Ryan Howard.
Albert ended the game 0-3 with a K. He drove one ball to the center field fence, but it was hauled in at the wall. Pujols is now 4-11 in his All-Star game career.

Pujols is making the All-Star game an every year occurence. He is an automatic IN, with five consecutive appearances. He has been named the starting first baseman three times, and has also been to the All-Star game as an outfielder and third baseman. Pujols has had success in the All-Star games, posting a 4-8 hit/ab ratio with 2 doubles and 4 RBI’s. I’ll go out on a limb and say we’re going to see Albert Pujols in this game for 10-15 years straight.
Lookout Pittsburgh. Pujols is going to take this All-Star game to another level.

My heart almost sank when I watched the trainer come out of the dugout in the 10th inning to check on Albert Pujols after his triple. Pujols came up a bit limp after rushing around the bases. Luckily, this didn’t seem to be major as Pujols stayed in the game and sent the trainer back to the dugout. Pujols ended the night 3-6 with 2 RBI’s against the Astros and broke his career long slump against Andy Pettite. Everyone thought it was going to be another heroic finish by Albert Pujols as the game entered the 10th inning in a 5-5 tie. But this time, Pujols couldn’t hit the HR. He ONLY tripled!!! He’s absolutely amazing. His ability to come through in the clutch is brilliant.
With the all-star break here, Pujols enters the break with a .316 AVG, 29 HRs and 76 RBIs. Not to shabby for a guy who missed 15 games. I would expect much of the same from Pujols in the second half of the season, but for now, let’s just relax and enjoy what we’ve witnessed in the first half of this season.
