With the Major League Baseball season now 60 days away, the Cardinals made some news over this past week, first by not signing Jeff Weaver, and allowing him to walk and sign with the Seattle Mariners.
Then more recently the Cardinals signed outfielder Preston Wilson to a one year, one million dollar contract. This is a good sign. Fairly cheap, and Preston will do a good job in the outfield for the Cardinals.
The news on our man Albert Pujols has been quiet, as we will have more on his "community service" trip soon!

At the age of 27, Albert is entering his 7th full season of professional baseball, all with the St. Louis Cardinals. We here at www.albertpujolsclub.com thought we would put Albert's career so far into perspective compared to four of arguably the best baseball players of all time. We will break each down individually, and are going to assume that our boy Jose Alberto Pujols played until the age 40, which is 13 more full seasons, which gives him 19 total years, and using Albert's averages so far to determine where he will fit in.
Albert Pujols Career Stats:
6 seasons
933 games
3489 at bats
748 runs
1159 hits
260 doubles
12 triples
250 homeruns
758 rbi's
493 walks
394 strikeouts
.332 batting average
Babe Ruth's Career Stats:
22 seasons
2503 games
8389 at bats
2174 runs
2873 hits
506 doubles
136 triples
714 homeruns
2217 rbi's
2062 walks
1330 strikeouts
.342 batting average
Hank Aaron's Career Stats:
23 seasons
3298 games
12364 at bats
2174 runs
3771 hits
624 doubles
98 triples
755 homeruns
2297 rbi's
1402 walks
1383 strikeouts
.305 batting average
Ted Williams' Career Stats:
19 seasons
2292 games
7706 at bats
1798 runs
2654 hits
525 doubles
71 triples
521 homeruns
1839 rbi's
2021 walks
739 strikeouts
.344 batting average
Joe Dimaggio's Career Stats:
13 seasons
1739 games
6821 at bats
1390 runs
2214 hits
389 doubles
131 triples
361 homeruns
1537 rbi's
790 walks
369 strikeouts
.325 batting average
Albert Pujols Career Stats(year 2019):
19 seasons
3038 games
11042 at bats
2360 runs
3668 hits
819 doubles
38 triples
796 homeruns
2396 rbi's
1559 walks
1252 strikeouts
.332 batting average
Now, we understand Albert could get hurt. His numbers could go down. His numbers could go up(scary thought). But we are just using his averages through his first 6 years. If these were the case:
Albert would play in more games, and have more at bats then all of them, except Hank Aaron. He would be ahead of all of them in runs, hits, and doubles. His triples would of course be lower than all of them, but we all know Albert is not a triples guy, if he is at third base, chances are his great baserunning instincts will take him all the way home. He would smoke all of them in homeruns(almost 800), and have more rbi's than all of them.
Bottom line: Albert Pujols has been, and has a chance to be one of the, if not THE best baseball player to ever play the game.
Stay tuned

We here at www.albertpujolsclub.com are getting excited about Albert and the Cardinals 2007 season. The defending World Series St. Louis Cardinals behind their 2005 MVP Albert Pujols will tip off the season against the National East Champion New York Mets on Sunday April 1st, 2007 on ESPN.
Pujols, the first basemen on one of the best professional sports franchises in all of sports history, the St. Louis Cardinals will look to re-load during the 2007 season. There will be plenty of changes in the Cardinals lineup, and pitching rotation but behind manager Tony LaRussa, and pitching coach Dave Duncan, Pujols and the Cardinals will be up top the National League Central standings once again.
Albert Pujols during the 2006 season hit for a .331batting average, hit 49 homeruns, and drove in 137 rbi's. With 50 homeruns during the 2007 season, Albert will reach the 300 homerun mark at the age of 27. 142 rbi's during the 2007 season will put Albert at 900 for his career, while only playing in 933 career games(coming into the 2007 season).
Make sure you continue to check out www.albertpujolsclub.com for all the latest on the guy that COULD go down in history as the GREATEST baseball player to ever play the game- Jose Alberto Pujols. Albert Pujols will miss the 2006 World Series Champions St. Louis Cardinals trip to the White House to meet the President on Tuesday. Instead, Albert will make a trip to his home land- the Dominican Republic on a humanitarian mission. His foundation, the Pujols Family Foundation is sponsoring the trip.
Albert, along with six doctors and two assistants are going to three villages in six days to work with over 1,000 Dominican kids.
The purpose of the trip will involve health education, cleaning teeth, and seeing if anyone needs surgery. Also, clothes will be given to those who are in need.
Is there any more this man can do?

Well the Cardinals re-signed a pitcher. The one that most Cardinal fans did NOT want to re-sign out of all the starting pitchers the Cardinals had in their 06 World Series run, the Cardinals DID sign on Wednesday.
Mark Mulder signed with the Cardinals for a 2 year, 13 million dollar contract. This deal was also loaded with incentives that say if Mulder gets 30 starts in both 07 and 08 the deal could be worth as much as 45 million dollars.
This deal now makes it official. Albert Pujols will NOT have to be the 4th starting pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Is it Baseball season yet?
