Albert becomes U.S. citizen

The United States of America has a new citizen. His name is Albert Pujols. On Thursday, Albert became the latest Dominican born native to become a U.S. citizen.

The Cardinals star one time MVP, was announced a U.S. citizen on Wednesday during a ceremony at the Eagleton Courthouse, with his wife and two dozen relatives and friends. He was sworn in by U.S. district Judge E. Richard Webber.

Pujols officials say Albert has been preparing for over a year for his U.S. citizenship test, and Pujols has tickled to death to receive a 100 percent on the test. "He just grinned from ear to ear. He was thrilled to become a U.S. citizen." said Chester Moyer, an official in the U.S. citizen and immigration service office in St. Louis.

Albert has now flown to report for the 2007 Spring Training. Position players are expected to report Monday February 19.

CONGRATULATIONS TO Albert Pujols!
