Congrats to Albert Pujols for being a Marvin Miller Award finalist!

Anyone remember this commercial from years ago?  Classic Albert Pujols commercial!

So will he or won’t he have offseason surgery?  Albert Pujols clarifies his comments a bit.

This guys is ridiculous.  Call him what you want – Albert the Great, Sir Albert, El Hombre, whatever… The guy is a professional hitter and the best player in Major League Baseball.  Albert Pujols is playing this 2008 season with a bum elbow.  So bad he is considering surgery this offseason.  How has that affected him?  You tell me.  Here are Pujols stats as of 9/10.

• Batting a career high .361
• 33 HR and 98 RBI
• 38 Doubles
• 93 walks to just 48 K’s

Those ARE MVP numbers without a doubt.  The Cardinals are on the outside lookin into the playoffs at this point.  But I’d venture to say they are 10 games UNDER .500 without Mr. Pujols.  So does he have a chance at this years MVP?
