Roy Oswalt tossed 8 1/3, and gave up only one run as the Astros beat the Cardinals 5-1 on Wednesday. Albert, and the Cardinals will now take Thursday off, and get ready to face the San Fransisco Giants over the weekend. The Cardinals lead the Reds by 5 games, and Astros by 6 games with 17 to play. The magic number over the Reds is 13, Astros 12.
This weekend the Cardinals will face Jason Schmidt, Matt Morris, and Johnathan Sanchez. The Cardinals will come with Jeff Suppan, Chris Carpenter, and Jeff Weaver. After the Giants leave town, next week the Cardinals will be on the road for three in Milwaukee, and four in Houston, before finishing the season with San Diego and Milwaukee in town.
Let's hope Albert has a huge weekend series against the Giants, and the Cardinals close in on that third straight NL Central title.
