NL and Pujols Quiet

by admin on July 12, 2006

Both Pujols and the National League where quiet Tuesday as they watched the American League steal the All-Star game from under their feet.  The National League was leading 2-1 almost the entire game, until the 9th inning.  Trevor Hoffman came in in the 9th and got two quick outs.  Things looked promising for the National League to stop the horrid losing streak to the American League.  Just then, Konerko singled, Glaus doubled, and Michael Young triple both in to give the Americal League a 3-2 lead.  The National League came up in the 9th but went down in order, ending with Pujols sub Ryan Howard.

Albert ended the game 0-3 with a K.  He drove one ball to the center field fence, but it was hauled in at the wall.  Pujols is now 4-11 in his All-Star game career.
