Pujols Frustrated?

by admin on October 13, 2006

There have been numerous reports that Albert was very frustrated after the Cardinals 2-0 game 1 loss in the NLDS.  Asked about the effectiveness of Mets starter Tom Glavine, Pujols, who lined out twice, said, "He wasn't good. I thought we hit the ball hard but we didn't get any breaks."  People around baseball and especially in New York are eating this alive.  Oh, how could he rip Glavine?  He's just bitter after losing.

Well, we see this as more of a personal slam on himself.  Sure he was frustrated with the loss.  I'm sure he didn't mean Glavine sucked.  He really meant to say, "Glavine threw decent, but I should have hit the crap out of him."  Albert is 0 for his last 10 but needed something to fuel his fire.  Maybe this is just it.  Watch for Albert to come out and swing the bat like a man on a mission tonight.  The Cardinals will follow his lead and tie up the series 1-1.

Cardinal fans that get all worked up over these comments should stop!  He was a little frustrated.  He's human.  Move on and don't dwell on it.
