Walkoff Pujols

by admin on July 14, 2006

Another day – another walkoff homerun by Albert Pujols.  Pujols gave the Cardinals a 3-2 win in the 14th inning of last nights game by hitting a blast to left field off of RP Odalis Perez.  Pujols batted in the 9th with the game tied and came up about 2 feet short from hitting a game winner.  "It’s almost surprising that he didn’t do it before he did, he’s that good of a player."  Stated Cardinals RP Adam Wainwright.

It’s an absolute understatement to say that Pujols has owned RP Odalis Perez.  For his career, Albert is 10-15 with 5 HR’s and 12 RBI’s off of Perez.  That is unheard of!  This is a great way to start off the second half of the season for Albert, who now increased his league leading ‘game winning’ hits by 1.
