At the beginning of May, Albert Pujols appeared to be human. It was a very slow start that got Cardinal Nation is an uproar. Is he hurt? Is he thinking contract? Is it time for him to begin a downward spiral? All those things and more were bantered about. Why? Because he was hitting .233 which was un-Albert like.
He got hurt and people were screaming that he was out for months and maybe the rest of the season. It appeared his 10 year streak of batting .300, hit at least 30 home runs and driving in 100 RBI’s was a distant memory. But somebody may have oiled the machine! He just kept going and going while all his numbers shot up.
Keep your eyes peeled folks to the games and boxscores and watch history continue to be made. Albert has the machine humming!In this last series of the season he is currently hitting with an average of .302 and has 38 home runs. He is lacking 2 RBI’s from continuing his streak and stretching it to 11 years straight. Can he do it? We have no doubt that Albert Pujols can drive in two more runs and maintain his current batting average.
