Albert Pujols Fighting for .300, 30, 100 Club for 11th Straight Year

by admin on September 28, 2011

The 2011 season has statistically been one of Albert Pujols worst seasons in his entire career.  Going into the final game of the season (game 162) he is batting .300 with 37 HR’s and 98 RBI’s.  Terrible huh?  It’s laughable that this is his worst season.  But it’s true.  It is.  This guy has been an absolute machine.  10 years in a row Pujols has hit for .300 average, hit 30+ HR’s and had 100+ RBI’s… So can he do it again this year – 2011?  Here is what Albert Pujols needs to do in his last game to get his mark:

  • Bat better than 1-4… If he goes 1-4 he will be at .299 on the season.  1-3, 2-4, 2-5… Any of those will do and get him above .300!
  • Get 2 RBI’s….
More importantly, the Cardinals need Albert to hit well tonight so they can win the game.  Tied for the wildcard lead with 1 single game remaining.  It’s going to be an exciting night.  Not only can the Cardinals make the playoffs but the Albert Pujols Milestone watch is on tonight as well.
Reminder: If there happens to be a tiebreaker (163rd game) played on Thursday.  STATS DO COUNT!  So Albert may have one more chance to get the 100+ RBI’s if he doesn’t get it tonight.
