During the second series of the year, the Cardinals will travel to Houston to face their big rival, the Houston Astros. Here are Albert's 2006 numbers against the Astros, 2006 numbers at Minute Maid, his career numbers against the Astros and his career numbers at Minute Maid.
2006 v. Astros:
16 games. 18-58, .310 10 runs 2 doubles 1 triple 3 homeruns 11 rbi's 14 walks 8 strikeouts Albert had a pretty impressive 2006 season against the Astros. His .310 batting average is a little lower than his season average, but the 10 runs in 16 games is pretty good, along with his 11 rbi's. How about that walk to strikeout ratio. 14-8, can anyone beat that?2006 at Minute Maid Park:
10 games 12-39, .308 batting average 6 runs 0 doubles 1 triple 2 homeruns 5 rbi's 6 walks 4 strikeouts Pujols has always had good success at Minute Maid. As you will see, hos .308 in 2006 is actually lower than his career at MMP, but regardless he had a nice year there. Again, more walks than strikeouts.Career v. Astros:
102 games 122-383, .319 batting average 72 runs 19 doubles 1 triple 25 homeruns 60 rbi's 59 walks 48 strikeouts Albert Pujols in his career has enjoyed hitting the Astros pitching. .319 career batting average, which still rates lower than his overall career batting average. His 25 homeruns, 60 rbi's is impressive, and once again, what a great walk to strikeout ratio.Career at Minute Maid Park:
53 games. 68-205, .332 batting average 40 runs 8 doubles. 1 triple 16 homeruns 32 rbi's 26 walks 30 strikeouts Minute Maid park has been good to Albert Pujols in his career. In the 53 games, the .332 batting average is extremely impressive, along with 16 homeruns and 32 rbi's, and for the fourth time, less walks than strikeouts. Nice. Official www.albertpujolsclub.com prediction: Albert continues his dominace of the Astros and Minute Maid Park, and has a nice weekend series. 2 homeruns, 6 rbi's is our guess.| Stay Informed Subscribe to Baseball Digest for cheap.
