We here at www.albertpujolsclub.com are highlighting Albert Pujols season and career numbers against each team on the Cardinals 2007 schedule. We have arrived at the 7th series of the year, April 20-22. This series against the Cardinals lifelong rival- the Chicago Cubs. This series- in historic Wrigley Field. Check them out. Enjoy:
2006 v. Cubs:
18 games 14-68, .206 batting average 9 runs 2 doubles 0 triples 2 homeruns 13 rbi's 8 walks 13 strikeouts Albert's struggles against the Cubs were well documented during the 2006 season. The Cub fans loved to chit chat about how the Cubs owned Albert and the Cardinals. They did win the season series against the Cardinals, but, who got the last laugh in the World Series. So what, Albert struggles against the Cubs. Won't happen in 07!2006 at Wrigley Field
10 games 8-37, .216 batting average 6 runs 1 double 0 triples 1 homerun 7 rbi's 4 walks 7 strikeouts Albert's .216 batting average is nothing to write home about, and frankly none of these stats in 06 are. His glaring stat is the 4 walks, 7 strikeouts. Definately not Albert like. Career v. Cubs 98 games 101-359, .281 batting average 63 runs 17 doubles 1 triple 26 homeruns 72 rbi's 49 walks 47 strikeots Albert's overall stats against the Cubs are definately an improvement over his 2006 numbers. The .281 batting average is well below Albert standards, and actually ranks second lowest among all National League teams. His 49 walks to 47 strikeouts is the key for Albert.Career at Wrigley Field
51 games 54-197, .274 batting average 30 runs 12 doubles 0 triples 14 homeruns 37 rbi's 22 walks 26 strikeouts Time for Albert to pick it up at Wrigley during 2007! -APCman| Stay Informed Subscribe to Baseball Digest for cheap. It's the top baseball magazine. |
