Albert Pujols absolutely CRUSHES the Pirates, especially in Pittsburgh. With his 21 straight games of reaching base, Pujols looks to extend that with a hit or walk this week in Pitt. Pujols is clearly locked in right now. Maybe not hitting all the power numbers he wants, but walks are just as important sometimes.
“I’m seeing the ball really good,” he said. “I’m really being disciplined at the plate. I think last year, pressing a little bit in the first two months helped me out a lot in my career. This year, even though I had a slow start, I wasn’t pushing. I knew that my numbers were going to be there. I needed to take my walks.”
Ian Snell is the opposing pitcher on Wednesday. He may want to consider walking Albert EVERY single time. Pujols is 9-16 with 4 bombs off of Snell over his career. That is sick! Pujols is also the all-time visiting homerun hitter at PNC Park with 20. The next highest is 12. Wow! Could be a good week for AP.
